Șerban is a senior economist with expertise in climate change and sustainability issues, spanning both academia and the policy environment. He supports diversity in economics thinking, interdisciplinary analysis, and connecting the arts and humanities to the science-action interface. Șerban worked for various departments of the European Commission (DG ENER, DG EMPL; DG GROW), for UNEP, and for several top UK universities - University of Cambridge, UCL, University of Manchester, from the latter graduating with a PhD on European integration, economics, and nature. Prof. Michael Roos
ASSOCIATE, ANALYSIS & EDUCATION in PLURALIST CLIMATE ECONOMICS
Michael is full Professor and Chair of the Department of Macroeconomics at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. He is a keen promoter of pluralism in economics, and recently co-authored a book on “Climate Economics: A call for more pluralism and responsibility” (Palgrave Macmillan). A new textbook on principles of complexity economics is due to be published in March 2024 (Springer Nature). Michael is also undertaking work on narrative economics. He strongly endorses the idea of connecting economics with arts & humanities, as artistic work might reach people emotionally and foster their imagination for a better future. Hanne Peeraer

Hanne is an interdisciplinary artist who explores the intersection of art, cognitive science, and social change. Her work investigates how art can navigate uncertainty and foster new ways to understand complex problems. Her background spans neuroaesthetics, interdisciplinary studies, and integrative coaching, with a focus on aligning human motivations with sustainable futures.. Recently, Hanne completed her MASc at the London Interdisciplinary School with an experimental study combining visual cognitive neuroscience, arts and philosophy. She seeks to deepen the dialogue between arts and climate economics to inspire more holistic approaches to global challenges. More on her profile here and here.

Lavia Lin
ASSOCIATE, VISUAL ARTS & PERFORMANCE
Lavia is a Berlin-based artist and performer originally from Shanghai, China. Her art dynamically experiments with interactions between music and visual arts, driven by a curiosity of what it means to ‘imagine music’. A key aspect of her practice is the act of creation itself, particularly through live painting, where she thrives on the immediacy of translating sound into visual form. She also aims to raise awareness about climate change through collaboration with international musicians, such as the Italian band Satoyama. In addition to her performances, Lavia facilitates intuitive painting workshops, helping others bring colour and creative expression into their lives. More info available here.

Richard Lewney
ASSOCIATE, ANALYSIS & EDUCATION in PLURALIST CLIMATE ECONOMICS
Richard is a senior economist with over 40 years’ experience in applied economic modelling and analysis to support public policymaking in the area of climate change, energy, environment, employment, regional & local development, and other topics of societal concern. Currently, he is Chair of the consultancy Cambridge Econometrics, and has been a Trustee of the Cambridge Trust for New Thinking in Economics since its founding in 2005. Unnada Chewpreecha
ASSOCIATE, EDUCATION & RESEARCH in PLURALIST CLIMATE ECONOMICS
Unnada is an economist with expertise in the economics of climate damages and mitigation policies. She applies various modelling frameworks, including post-Keynesian, equilibrium, and evolutionary approaches. Currently, she works as a consultant at the World Bank, and prior to this, she spent more than 15 years at Cambridge Econometrics as principal economic modeller. Unnada hopes to raise awareness of pluralist economics approaches among different stakeholders, ranging from young students to policy makers across the globe. Michael Goodwin

Mike lives in New York and writes comics about the economy. He’s the author of “Economix: How our economy works and doesn’t work” (with illustrations by Dan E. Barr, including the profile image above). The book offers a comics history of the economy and has become a worldwide bestseller. He is currently working on a new nonfiction comics book on climate economics. Mike has spent several years in China, as well as India; his previous efforts include interpreting Chinese, writing comedy, photography, disaster relief, dealing art (ineptly), and writing about medicine. Hector Pollitt

Hector is a senior economist with an expertise on energy-environment-economy modelling, climate economics, climate policy, trade, investments, and development. Currently, he is working with the World Bank (focusing on the East Asia and Pacific region), and previously was Head of Modelling and Chief Economist at Cambridge Econometrics , UK. He is interested in raising awareness on pluralist economics to advance sustainable development, such as linking Post Keynesian economics with complexity economics. Joe Norman

Joe is a communications professional who specialises in stripping ideas down to their essentials. He currently works in communications for a UK local authority, and previously worked for the communications agency M&C Saatchi World Services. Joe spent two years in Lebanon studying Arabic and researching the Lebanese Civil War. Other topics he has researched and written on include economics, finance, the blockchain, philosophy of science, meditation and Brexit. He speaks conversational Arabic, French and Spanish.
